Mobility access at Frogmore House
There are three steps at the main entrance to Frogmore House, which is accessible via a ramp, with a hand rail on both sides.
Inside Frogmore House there are 30 steps to access the one room upstairs – the Cross Gallery. There is no wheelchair access to the Cross Gallery, but visitors can see pictures of the room in a display on the ground floor.
There are two steps down into the Colonnade – with an alternative route for wheelchair users.
Mobility aids
The corridors and rooms in Frogmore House are narrow, with some spaces no more than 80 cm in width and manoeuvring mobility aids can be difficult.
Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge when visiting the House only. Wheelchairs are provided on a 'first come, first served basis' so no pre-booking is necessary. If visitors wish to hire a wheelchair for the full duration of their visit, including access to the gardens, wheelchair hire is available through Shopmobility. Mobility scooters can be used in the gardens, but due to tight spaces in the house visitors will be asked to transfer to a manual wheelchair. If you have any queries regarding the use or size of your mobility scooter or wheelchair please contact the Specialist Sales team [email protected].
Flooring
As Frogmore House is an historic building, the floors may be uneven so please take care. Most rooms are carpeted, but some have polished wooden floors.
The garden path is gravelled. There are long distances to be covered in the gardens with some gradients that manual wheelchair users may find difficult.
Respite seating
Charity Days
Bench seating is available at various locations within the gardens. There is additional seating at the refreshment tent, and visitors may bring small portable seats to use in the garden. Seating is available within Frogmore House on request.
Group Guided Tours
Seating is available within Frogmore House on request.
Assistance animals
Assistance animals are welcome. We recommend that if possible animals wear a jacket or lead slip to identify them as working.
Staff reserve the right to ask visitors to remove their animal if it is deemed not to be behaving appropriately. Arrangements will then be made for the visitor to return without their animal. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
Shops
The shop is open on the charity days only, and is wheelchair accessible. An online shop is available at www.royalcollectionshop.org.uk
Toilets
Accessible toilets are available adjacent to the house.

Group Guided Tours
All group members must arrive together at the house, for security reasons. Group members must all arrive on one coach or minibus, and may not come on foot or by car. Vehicle access to Frogmore House is via the Shaw Farm Gate, located on the A308 Albert Road. On arrival at the gate, the police supervise admission and provide directions to the house. The driver of the vehicle is permitted to drop off the group outside Frogmore House, but will be required to park in a designated parking bay some distance from the house for the duration of the visit. The driver will not be able to join the tour.
