Join Royal photographer Hugo Burnand as he delves into his preparations and process required to capture the iconic images of Their Majesties The King and Queen at Buckingham Palace on their Coronation Day. Hugo will explain the process of posing, framing and lighting the perfect portrait as well as sharing stories from this extraordinary, memorable day.

Born in Cannes, France in the Swinging Sixties Hugo first learned to develop and print photographs on the kitchen table at home, with his mother, photographer Ursy Burnand. Over the span of his career, Hugo has photographed an extraordinary list of royals and celebrities, including Queen Elizabeth II, Bill Clinton, President Mikhail Gorbachev, Baroness Thatcher, Lucian Freud, Victoria Beckham and Michael Jackson, to name but a few.

Hugo was chosen as the official photographer for the wedding of Their Majesties (then Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles), the wedding of The Prince and Princess of Wales (then known as Prince William and Catherine Middleton), and, most recently, The Coronation of Charles III and Camilla.

Please note the content of this event will be repeat of an in-person event, held at The King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace on Thursday, 20 June 2024. Tickets for this event can be purchased using the link below.
